HISTORY

Public Communal Enterprise "Energana" Sombor, was founded as an independent enterprise in 1984, by splitting off one of the sections of the Metalwork industry "Bane Sekulic" Sombor. It was drafted and predominantly built as an industrial boiler room. It is placed in the center of the planned manufecturing district. Unfortunately, the plan has not been realized because only a few of industrial sections have been built in the vicinity of the heating plant, so that the heating system was built later on in the length of about 1.500 meters to the first housing buildings.
In that way the purpose of the heating plant was turned primarily into the heating plant for the heating the town. Although the heating system was built later to the cebter of town, the greatest number of the users live in the part of the town which is called "Nova Selenca", which is the nearest to the heating plant.
